Interesting case studies at the Online Recruitment 2009 conference

Yesterday I attended the Online Recruitment 2009 conference organised by Enhance Media. It was held at the Royal Geographical Society in Kensington and promised a very appealing programme.

There were sessions from:

  • YouTube on the use of online videos to attract candidates and develop employer branding
  • PriceWaterhouseCoopers on the use of blogging on their corporate careers site
  • Facebook on how recruiters can use the site to engage with candidates and target specific groups
  • Workcircle explaining the evolution of their business model and the role of aggregators in the job board space
  • Revenue Science on how behavioural targeting can be used to inform recruitment activity
  • Bracknell Forest Council on how they are using Web 2.0 technologies to engage with Generation Y
  • Enhance Media looking at the future for the online recruitment market
  •

The speakers were all addressing an audience of recruiters, but there are some very interesting themes for job seekers and I now have a list of topics for new articles and guidance notes for our clients. I’ll write these sessions up properly when I have more time.
